Anastasia Netrebine is a visual and installation artist born in Helsinki, Finland. Her work focuses on themes such as time, memories and human experience. She draws inspiration from personal history, experiences and observations. Netrebine sees herself as an interdisciplinary artist and in her more recent work she is combining several of her many interests such as sculpture, ceramics and metalsmithing. Netrebine earned her Bachelors’s degree in art from the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences in Finland in 2013. She first came to the US as an exchange student in 2011 and after deciding to fully commit to being an artist, she returned to Winthrop University to pursue a Master’s degree in Studio Arts, which she received in 2018. In 2019, Netrebine won second place and a $25,000 prize for her installation Almost Familiar at ArtFields, an annual art competition in Lake City, SC.
